Student Assistant to provide German language support for an international team (up to 40 hours/month)

The Hannover Center for Optical Technologies (HOT), the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering invite applications for the position of a Student Assistant (m/f/d) to provide German language support for an international team (up to 40 hours/month) to be filled as soon as possible. The position is initially limited to 3 months. The exact number of hours can be arranged based on individual needs.

Responsibilities and duties

The student assistant will support the newly established Computational Photonics Group led by Prof. Antonio Calà Lesina in all activities associated with the use of the German language. This may include the translation of documents related to research and teaching, the preparation of lectures, etc.

Hiring requirements

Applicants must have a valid matriculation at a German university in order to be hired. Your studies should be related to the above-mentioned activities, for example, in translation, teaching of foreign languages, interpreter. Although students from humanities would be preferred, applications from excellent students in scientific disciplines will also be considered. The ideal candidate has a native level knowledge of German with academic language proficiency. In addition, good communication skills in English are expected.

Preference will be given to equally-qualified applicants with disabilities.
