Hannover Centre for Optical Technologies (HOT)
The Hannover Centre for Optical Technologies (HOT) is an interdisciplinary research centre of Leibniz Universität Hannover. The centre originates from an initiative of University institutes and research facilities with the aim of advancing research, education and technology transfer in the area of optics, photonics and optical technologies. The HOT performs own research and collaborative research in fundamental and applied fields together with its member institutes, associate members (Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. – co-founder, Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, and others) and external partners.
Central organs of HOT are:
- the meeting of members
(grand strategic decisions, recommendations to the board of directoris)
- the board of trustees
(evaluation of HOT, contact with industry, acqusition of third-party funds etc.)
