Dr. Izzatjon Mukhiddinovich Allayarov joined the research group Computational Photonics in January 2021. The 33 years old Physicist works on linear and nonlinear optics, plasmonics, numerical simulations and algorithms. He is researching to develop a new, advanced analytical and numerical methods to describe the nonlinear electromagnetic processes accurately. „At the end, I would like to prove data gained in experiments with my equations and numerical calculations in theory“, says Allayarov.
The native Uzbek obtained a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Physics at the National University of Uzbekistan in the country’s capital Tashkent. In his final year at school, he won the Republican Physics Olympiad for High-School students – and the following year as a student.
After his graduation from university, he became a researcher at the Physical-Technical Institute in Tashkent but left in 2015 to pursue a doctorate in Germany. At the University of Stuttgart, his main research focus was on nonlinear wave propagation, which he further investigated in his PhD thesis, „Theory of leaky mode propagation in optical waveguide geometries“.
Allayarov is multilingual. Besides his mother tongue Uzbek, he also speaks English, Russian and some German. Since he moved from Stuttgart to Hannover during the Corona lockdown, he hasn’t seen much of the city yet but likes to visit the Maschsee and Eilenriede with his daughter and wife, a journalist. In his free time, he likes to play table tennis and read books about ancient history. Allayarov is looking forward to attending conferences and meetings in person again. Until then, he has to remember his favourite conference so far: the Nonlinear Optics Topical Meeting of the Optical Society of America in Hawaii, USA.
