The aim of this project is the development of a production process for hologram transfer directly into the metal surfaces. It can be used to protect the original metal products against the illegal copies. Two research centers are involved in the project: Hannover’s Center for Optical Technologies (HOT) and the Institute of Metal Forming and Metal-Forming Machines (ifum).

Within this project the algorithms for the computer generation of holograms (CGH-hologram) were developed. Main advantages of CGH are highly flexibility and customization. To the computer-generated holograms in a light-sensitive photo layer an exposure system was developed at the HOT.
